Taming the interference in Wireless Networks by using A Priori Information (TAIWAP)

A wireless network uses a certain limited frequency spectrum and many devices simultaneously transmit the signal over the air, such that the communication performance becomes limited by interference among the different transmitters. If the receiver can know some information about the interference, the interference can be partly canceled and transmission capacity is increased. The project is dealing with proposing such schemes such the receivers can know as much information about the interference as possible. On the other hand, the project investigates the methods how to actually use the incomplete a priori information to cancel/mitigate the interference under various degrees of imperfect knowledge about the communication environment.

The project is funded by the grant nr. 09 - 065035 received from FTP, the Danish research council.
